Why do so many people use PDF files? There are millions of PDF documents in the web and even more at people’s hard drives. I think there are several reasons to that.
1. PDF documents keep the look and feel of the original paper document. It’s important for many people who are not so accustomed to electronic files.
2. Files in PDF format are of comparatively small size. This makes them suitable for emailing, uploading to the web or sharing via other electronic means.
3. Distributing files in PDF you may be sure your recipients will see exactly the same data as you intend. PDF files are displayed the same way on all monitors and can be printed without any changes by any physical printer.
4. PDF files are portable. The free Acrobat Reader ensures that everyone can actually open a PDF file on his/her computer without any problems.
In a nutshell, PDF files are widely accepted, easy-to-view and reliable. That makes them so popular among millions of users.
